Carol Taylor

In 2001 an accident left Carol a quadriplegic. Carol’s spinal cord was severed resulting in complete paralysis from the chest down. Despite having only some arm movement, Carol spent years teaching herself to use her paralysed hands, and with the help of some specially made tools Carol found a way to draw, to paint, and create.

Carol has always been interested in fashion and design. In 2019 Carol was invited by the Director of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane to design a collection of nine inclusive pieces. It’s here she caught the design bug, and has been designing pieces with her signature flair of colour and glamour ever since.

Carol believes people with disabilities have been left out of the fashion conversation. With 20 years of lived experience as a C5/C6 quadriplegic woman, 15 of those years as a mum, Carol has overcome many challenges and has the passion to continue tackling those challenges head on into the future. Carol comes into the Christina Stephens team with a furious desire for positive change and justice, and to redefine what is possible for all.

Fun fact: Carol lives in Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast QLD with her husband Rob, son D’arcy, and a menagerie of crazy animals.
