Denim, Redefined: Meet the New Adaptive Jeans from Christina Stephens

This May, we’re proud to launch something truly special: a new generation of adaptive jeans designed with dignity, detail and real-life lived experience in mind.

Whether you’re dressing seated, navigating fatigue, living with sensory sensitivities or using prosthetics, our new Annie, Rhys, Stephen and Frenchine Jeans bring together function, fashion and flexibility—so you can get dressed once and feel great all day.

Launching at the ATSA Expos in Perth and Melbourne, these designs mark a new chapter in adaptive denim: one where comfort doesn’t compromise on style, and small details make a big difference.

Annie Jeans, Stephen Jeans & Rhys Jeans: Comfort You Can Count On

Designed for women (Annie) and men (Stephen & Rhys), these jeans combine innovative adaptive features with the timeless look of classic or street denim.

Key features include:

  • Soft, wrinkle-free denim with the option of brushed fleece lining for extra warmth and comfort

  • Longer leg length for a polished, seated silhouette

  • Seamless back panel to reduce pressure sore risk

  • Higher back, lower front for dignity and a more natural seated fit
  • Zip-off knee section to transform jeans into shorts in seconds (Rhys Jeans)
  • Discreet catheter tube zip access on both sides of the thigh
  • A choice of two or three zip points for multiple dressing and access options

  • Pull loops and belt-loop tabs for dressing independence

  • No scratchy internal tags

  • Roomy thigh area to discreetly accommodate leg bags

Whether you’re navigating dexterity issues or simply want jeans that support your routine, these styles make dressing easier without sacrificing confidence.

Frenchine Jeans: High-Fashion Meets High Function

For those who want a little more flair, the Frenchine Jeans bring European-inspired style to adaptive denim.

Elegant. Easy. Empowering.

  • Classic French high-waist cut (front and back)

  • Two full length side-seam zips for easy dressing and access

  • Soft brushed denim or classic blue finish

  • Wide-leg silhouette for seated elegance and practicality when dressing

  • Faux sailor buttons for a stylish finish

  • Slimming, flattering, and easy to pull on and off

  • Pull rings at zips for dressing support

  • One back pocket, no internal tags

  • NDIS-funded

The Frenchine is for anyone who believes adaptive fashion can be stylish fashion. (Spoiler alert: we do too.)

Launching at ATSA, Available Online in May

All three new jeans will be officially launched at the ATSA Independent Living Expos in Melbourne and Perth this May, with orders open shortly after.

Whether you’re looking for everyday comfort, travel-friendly design, or something with a little more edge, these jeans are here to change the game for adaptive denim.

And yes—they can all be NDIS funded.

Why It Matters

At Christina Stephens, we believe clothing should support your lifestyle—not get in the way of it. That’s why every seam, zip, and waistband has been developed through community-led design and ongoing feedback from people living with disability, chronic illness and mobility challenges.

These jeans aren’t just clothing—they’re everyday tools for comfort, style, and independence.
